Australian Native Food Co

National Telstra Best of Business Awards Finalist | Building Communities

Yesterday Australian Native Food Co. had the honor of representing South Australia in the #telstrabestofbusinessawards2022.

What an amazing event this was.

Unfortunately on this occasion we did not win the National award. With saying this we won on so many other levels just by being there and walking amongst Australia’s best of best small to medium businesses.

I would like to congratulate the other finalists, but most of all the Winner, Peter Lyndon-James from West Australian Shalom Group Inc. You are a true inspiration in every word and such a well deserving winner of the Building Communities Category. Your passion, and drive in insatiable.

These awards enabled us to do a deep dive into our businesses, and to look at it from so many angles, thus enabling us to have the tools to expand and go to the next level. These skills are priceless and I am looking forward to what we create.

Now to my staff. The back bone of the company and to all of you that have worked hard and tirelessly to get us to this stage. I thank every single one of you for your dedication to the Australian Native Food Co project.

To my partner, Melanie Fergin and my kids Jacyb Paris-Hewitt and Lara for your continual love and support and helping me to follow my dreams.

Our business is about showcasing what Australia has to offer in the range of native foods and aromas. Utilising the land and the produce readily available to us and supporting our economy and people, thus building communities along the way. We manufacture all of our products from beginning to end, and through this employ and teach our staff new skills and at the same time giving purpose, leading to meaningful employment outcomes.

Now this award isn’t just about us. It is about everyone that has also supported us in this journey and enabled us to grow, thus being able to give back and to such a positive lifechanging path for all of those involved. These including our Indigenous partners and suppliers, the farmers, growers and our stockists. Giving back and enabling each, and every co-hort that we work with, to grow and to support their people in their own individual journeys.

So to my green ant marmalade and my native bush dukkah, 2 of my first products, this was the beginning of the journey that and has lead us to create brighter futures, to build communities, to support local and to embrace and celebrate what this country has to offer.

Check out our website and support small business.

With love xx Rebecca Paris
